The Bible Training Center for Pastors and the Bible Training Center for Church Leaders (BTCP and BTCL) is designed for the specific purpose of providing trans-denominational basic Bible training for national pastors and church leaders which will adequately and effectively equip them with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for the work of local church ministry. Most BTCP/BTCL students have not been to Bible college or seminary. The focus of the training is on pastors and church leaders becoming more like Jesus Christ in character, conduct and conversation. Our ultimate mission is that they will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Then they will be truly free.
The objectives are seen in terms of:
BTCP/BTCL is designed as a "church-based" equipping and training ministry, not a formal educational institution. Practical understanding and implementation of Bible knowledge and ministry skills is the objective, not academic knowledge, credentials or achievement.
The basic teaching/learning process utilized in BTCP/BTCL is best described as an "ongoing process of assimilation" of knowledge and skills in a relational/interactive context without the use of traditional testing/measuring devices (i.e. exams, term papers, etc.) The students, hear, see, study and personally practice what they are learning via class time review and restatement, the study/reading periods and their ministry involvements. Question and answer times at the end of individual class sessions of the day are often used to confirm learning.
Student motivation comes not from grade point averages or cramming to do well on exams or out of fear of failure but because of personal desire to be biblically equipped and trained for effective pastoral ministry.
The BTCP/BTCL program cannot be taken in part but must be accepted in its entirely with course manuals, NIV Study Bible, philosophy, concept and methodology. Material cannot be deleted or added nor can other educational/academic requirement be imposed. No other textbooks, handouts or library resource materials are used in BTCP. These restrictions are necessary to insure the integrity of the program, the purity of the teaching and the transferability of the content.
The BTCP curriculum is built on the Bible as the primary textbook. English-speaking students use the NIV Study Bible. The ten courses are custom designed and self-contained to provide a comprehensive training equivalent to a foundational level Bible College or seminary. The manuals also provide the pastor or church leader with a lasting resource for future ministry and personal growth. |
